Named after the Aztec emperor Montezuma who was forced to confront the "new world," Zumasys helps companies preserve their historical IT investments as they move to embrace new technologies. Today, hundreds of companies across North America including American Express, Bebe Stores and Orange County Head Start rely on Zumasys for world class technical services and support. Zumasys is based in Orange County, California, home to some of nation's largest technology companies and a hot bed of IT innovation.
Zumasys, Inc. was incorporated in September of 2000 by several former managers of Jones Business Systems (JBS), a former $68M/year systems integrator and a two-time Inc. 500 company based in Houston, Texas. While at JBS, the management team created the Enterprise Systems Division (ESD) and grew divisional revenues to $17M. Seeing the opportunity to provide emerging technology solutions to legacy computing users, Zumasys split off from JBS in September of 2000, purchased the divisional assets, and relocated to Southern California. The company also assumed vendor relationships with Tiger Logic (formerly Raining Data Corporation) and took over annual database support contracts with hundreds of customers.
In 2001, Zumasys acquired The Computer Clinic (TCC), a Huntington Beach, CA-based professional services organization with 17 years of experience providing out-sourced technical services, wireless networks and tape/storage solutions. Led by Tom McTeer, the employees and managers of TCC joined the Zumasys family and formed one of the best teams of cross platform literate technicians in the country. The combined company moved into a new company-owned headquarters in 2008 located at the intersection of the 405/5 freeways in Irvine, California.
Strong relationships are the salt of life and Zumasys is known for the lasting relationships it builds with its customers, vendors and ISVs (Independent Software Vendors). The company utilizes a combination of strong ongoing technical education, on-site systems analysis and consultative technology audits to keep customers abreast of solutions that can directly affect their productivity and cut costs. Zumasys builds solutions based on products from industry leaders such as VMware, NetApp, Citrix Systems, HP, Shoretel, IBM, Microsoft, Panasonic, Tiger Logic and SonicWALL.
