Zumasys, Inc. Signs Reseller Agreement with Unitrends

Lake Forest, California
– May 16, 2005 – Zumasys, Inc., an award-winning national IT solutions architect, announced today that it has signed a reseller agreement with Unitrends (www.unitrends.com), a pioneer in the development of Rapid Business Systems recovery products and services. Under the agreement, Zumasys will offer the full line of Unitrends' market-leading system protection appliances to its small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers across the country, helping them design and implement their business continuity strategies.

Unitrends offers SMBs a comprehensive solution, enabling them to protect not only their business-critical data, but allowing the rapid recovery of an operating system, as well as permissions, passwords and settings, within minutes. Unitrends' complete line of Data Protection Unit (DPUTM) appliances integrates the company's data and system protection software along with removable, high-capacity SATA hard disks. The result is rapid disk-to-disk-based backup/recovery and offsite storage across more than 20 of today's most popular business operating systems, allowing SMBs to implement an "e-vaulting" solution, which enables them to back up data electronically from multiple locations to a central repository. Unitrends' DPUs are designed to protect a full range of data, ranging from 1.5 terabytes to more than 100TB, meeting the needs of SMBs as well as departments within larger organizations.

"As corporate data continues to grow at exponential rates, businesses of all sizes acknowledge that traditional tape solutions just can't keep up," stated Paul Giobbi, president of Zumasys. "Disk-to-disk backup is the only logical choice, even at the SMB level. By combining a disk-to-disk approach with software that protects both data and the underlying systems, Unitrends' products deliver solid value and a compelling solution. Not only can we cut backup times by 75% or more, but we can also restore crashed servers in minutes in the event of a disaster. This has already saved our customers from countless hours of business downtime."

A national IT outsourcing company, Zumasys targets companies with mature business applications and helps them stabilize, evolve and extend those applications so their deep and critical value can be maximized within modern IT environments. The company also provides host-based system upgrades and solutions for security, web services, wireless/mobile access and messaging.

Zumasys has already installed Unitrends DPU system protection appliances at customers across the country including Sheeran Direct Marketing (Delaware), The Loan Link (California) and The Momentum Group (California).

"Companies which do not backup both their data and their systems face a dilemma that can cost them dearly," said Sterling Wharton, Unitrends' Executive Vice President. "Unitrends' focus on Total System ProtectionSM is designed to help SMBs implement a true business continuity strategy at a price they can afford. Working with channel partners like Zumasys enables us to reach these customers more effectively. Zumasys has a well-established network of clients and has earned their trust by delivering solutions that provide significant value. We're pleased to work with them."
