Zumasys, Inc. Places Four Finalists at 2005 QUALCOMM A-List Awards


Lake Forest, California – Sept 01, 2005 – Zumasys, Inc. is pleased to announced that four of its wireless projects have been placed as finalists at QUALCOMM’s third annual 3G A-List Awards. Winners will be announced at the CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment show in San Francisco on September 27, 2005.

The QUALCOMM A-List Awards recognize the leading builders of successful wireless data solutions based on 3G CDMA (CDMA2000 1X, EV-DO, and WCDMA/UMTS) technology. A-List solutions demonstrate creativity and exceed business objectives by introducing higher ROI, lower operating expenses, or increased user satisfaction.

Zumasys designed, engineered and implemented mobile solutions for each of these customers using AirCards, wireless wide area PC cards manufactured by Sierra Wireless, and Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess  Internet service (technically known as 1xEV-DO). EV-DO is an evolution of CDMA2000 and an approved 3G standard for fixed, portable and mobile applications. EV-DO is "data optimized," providing average connection speeds of 400-700Kbps and a peak data rate of 2.4 Mbps. The first 1xEV-DO commercial service began in January 2002. There are already more than 12 million 1xEV-DO users today, with many more networks expected to launch this year and next.

This is the third year that Zumasys’ wireless projects have been named to the A-List. Zumasys is the only company to appear three times and to win two times (for Continental Lab Products won in 2004 and Momentum Group won in 2003).
