Zumasys, Inc. Congratulates Continental Lab Products on Winning QUALCOMM 3G cdmA-List Award

October 26, 2004
SAN FRANCISCO - Zumasys, Inc. congratulates Continental Lab Products for being recognized at QUALCOMM's second annual 3G cdmA-ListTM Awards during CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2004 in San Francisco. Continental Lab Products (CLP) was honored with the Best In Class award for its highly successful rollout of an integrated wireless mobility solution.

Zumasys designed, engineered and implemented this mobile solution for CLP combining Panasonic Toughbooks, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server and AirCard® 580 and PC5220 wireless wide area PC cards manufactured by Sierra Wireless. The solution provides CLP's San Diego and Washington D.C. sales representatives secure access to applications via Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service (technically known as EV-DO). CLP's sales representatives connect wirelessly to Microsoft Exchange for email, as well as to the company's Intranet, customer relationship management (CRM) system and their Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. As a result, sales representatives can check and update customer data or inventory levels from the field and at customer sites, improving productivity and accelerating customer response time.

"QUALCOMM congratulates Continental Lab Products, along with all of this year's A-List winners, for working together to use wireless data in innovative and impactful ways," said Jeffrey Belk, senior vice president of marketing for QUALCOMM. "The volume of nominations QUALCOMM received for this year's A-List Awards program validates the growing use of CDMA-based mobile business solutions and Zumasys and Continental Lab Products' collaboration serves as a prime example of 3G wireless data's promise to the enterprise."

Providing one of the fastest wireless data connections available, with peak data speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps and typical speeds of 300-600 kilobits per second (kbps) on an EV-DO wireless network, the Sierra Wireless AirCard 580 was developed for mobile users that require access to mission-critical enterprise applications such as sales force automation and customer relationship management tools, as well as streaming audio, video and the Internet. The product offers 'always on' wireless access in a Type II PC Card format, improving productivity and giving enterprise users a vital competitive advantage.

"Our relationship with Zumasys provides Continental Lab sales reps with greater access to critical business applications and a much broader scope of wireless access on high-speed wireless networks," said Dan Schieler, Vice President North American Sales for Sierra Wireless. "The AirCard 580 for EV-DO networks delivers the performance and reliability our business customers expect, while enabling them to improve productivity and stay ahead of the competition."

This is the second year that a Zumasys wireless project received an A-List award, making it the only integrator to repeat (Momentum Group won the Medium Business category in 2003 and Servall was a finalist for the Small Business category that same year). CLP was one of 8 organizations, selected from a host of innovative nominations from a wide range of companies, public agencies and nonprofit organizations, to receive a 2004 A-List Award. Additionally, two other Zumasys deployments, the National Capital Area chapter of American Red Cross and Valor Computerized Systems, were finalists for the 2004 EV-DO category and Small Company category respectively. "We are extremely proud of the fact that five of our customers have appeared on the A-List as finalists/winners in the last two years," said Paul Giobbi, president of Zumasys, Inc. "We believe this validates our vision for the dramatic impact that 3G wireless solutions can have on the small-to-medium businesses we serve. We also want to recognize that these awards highlight the strengths of our technical/engineering group."

The annual 3G cdmA-List program was created by QUALCOMM to honor mobility at work. More information about this year's program and winners can be found at www.3gcdmalist.com.
