Zumasys, Inc. Appears on D&B's 10th Annual Hot 100 List
Wireless Integrator is One of the Fastest-Growing New Businesses in America
May 24, 2004
Zumasys, Inc. announced today that it was named to the Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) 2004 listing of America's fastest-growing new businesses. Zumasys ranked #82 on the list, which appeared in the June issue of Entrepreneur magazine.
The companies on the Hot 100 list averaged 37 months in business and had combined sales of $1.1 billion in 2004. In order to be considered for the list, companies had to meet the following criteria:
- The business must have been founded no earlier than 1999.
- The founder must be actively involved in daily operations and have a controlling interest in the business.
- Annual 2003 sales must have exceeded $1 million.
Founded in October 2000, Zumasys started with an initial investment of $20,000 and grew to $5.1M in sales in FY 2003.
"Our team has worked extremely hard over the last 3 1/2 years to evolve our business and they are to be commended for this achievement," said Paul Giobbi, President of Zumasys. "Acceptance to the Hot 100 is a real validation of our business model and we are delighted to receive the visibility."
Zumasys is a national information technology services company but much of its growth comes from its burgeoning wireless mobility business. Zumasys pioneered the concept of connecting mobile workers via cellular-based Internet connections (i.e. 3G wireless) using bandwidth-optimized infrastructure software such as Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame XP. The company targets small-to-medium businesses and gives their mobile workers a competitive advantage by leveraging wireless technology to increase their productivity, boost sales and improve moral.
"The secret to our success is always putting the interests of our customers first and treating those interests as if they were our own, because they are," said Joe Cupp, Vice President and co-founder of Zumasys.
