Our recent Demo Day presentations in June and July showcased exciting new features and improvements that are set to transform the way you manage sales and orders. Unparalleled Flexibility with Functionality Toggles
One of the standout features of Rover POS is its incredible flexibility, largely powered by configuration options defined in Rover ERP. This powerful capability allows you to customize your POS experience to fit your specific business needs. Here are some key highlights:
- Customizable Options: The POS tab in the configuration interface offers a plethora of toggles and settings. While we’re working on making this interface more user-friendly, it currently provides granular control over various POS functions.
- Auto-Create Customer Prompt: This feature allows the system to automatically prompt for customer creation when a search term doesn’t match any existing customers. This streamlines the process of adding new customers on the fly.
- User Authentication for Shared Registers: For businesses using shared POS terminals, you can enable a feature that requires user authentication when creating new orders. This ensures accountability and helps track who created each order.
- Auto-Add Part Toggle: When enabled, this user-specific setting automatically adds an item to the cart if a search returns only one result. This can be toggled on or off based on user preference, enhancing efficiency for experienced users.
Enhanced UI and Functionality
The July demo showcased significant improvements to the POS interface and functionality:
- Streamlined Editing: We’ve eliminated the need to click an edit icon for editing individual rows. Now, you can freely make edits across multiple rows and save all changes at once. This new approach speeds up the order entry process and reduces clicks.
- Informative Save Dialogues: When saving changes, you’ll now see a popup confirming that your edits have been saved. If you attempt to close without saving, a dialogue appears showing exactly which fields were modified, ensuring you don’t lose important changes accidentally.
- Improved Layout: We’ve cleaned up the UI, moving the keyword search for a more intuitive layout. The part number now has its own column, creating a cleaner, more aligned look. We’ve also optimized the width of price and quantity fields for a more polished appearance.
- Auto-Focus on New Entries: When adding a new item or opening an order, the system now automatically focuses on the relevant row, speeding up data entry and reducing errors.
Customizable Inventory Display
An exciting new feature is the customizable inventory display popup:
- Tabbed Interface: Clicking on an inventory number in POS now brings up a tabbed interface with additional data about the item. This information can come from your database or from third party sources.
